What do you do when your favorite antique crystal glass or goblet is chipped? A common inclination is to throw the piece away. However, with our chipped crystal and glass polishing service, you may not have to get rid of the piece because we can restore it! Restoring chipped crystal is one of our favorite services that we provide because it’s different from our regular larger glass services like mirrored walls and shower enclosures, and it provides peace of mind to our clients!

At Chippewa Glass & Mirror, we have all the necessary equipment to accomplish glass projects at nearly any scale, and this includes the small scale of repairing chipped crystal. When you come in with a glass that has been chipped at the top, or a candy dish with damage, or really any other glass item you can think of, we can polish out the chip and make your glass items safe to use once again. It’s important to recognize that the chipped crystal service does remove some glass from the top of the piece, which will result in a shorter overall finish; however, it is usually imperceptible, and depending on the size of the chip, it may not even be visible by eye.

For our chipped crystal and glass polishing service, usually clients bring in their pieces, and we can evaluate them to see if it’s possible to remove the chip without further damaging the piece. If it is, we can usually process these pieces on the same day or in just a few days because the actual polishing does not take very long once started.
